Crown Company Limited is a Japanese innovation-driven company celebrating its 70th anniversary. Founded in 1956 and now led by the second generation of the founding family, the company focuses on developing practical technologies that improve quality of life, particularly in the fields of health, rehabilitation, and personal care.

The company’s recent innovations were inspired by the personal experience of its second-generation leader, Kenneth Min Zee, who began developing new solutions while caring for his elderly parents. This experience led to the creation of several patented technologies designed to support daily hygiene, comfort, and rehabilitation.

Since obtaining its first patent in 2019, Crown Company Limited has steadily expanded its intellectual property portfolio and currently holds:

Innovation Inspired by Personal Experience

The inspiration behind many of Crown Company’s innovations comes from the personal experience of Kenneth Min Zee, the second-generation leader of the company.

While caring for his elderly parents, who were confined to wheelchairs, Kenneth noticed a troubling change. His parents gradually lost their appetite and became emotionally discouraged as their daily lives became increasingly dependent on others.

Determined to improve their quality of life, Kenneth searched worldwide for solutions.

His parents enjoyed sweets, so he hoped to find healthy chocolates and cookies enriched with natural health ingredients that they could still enjoy even when their appetite declined. However, he was unable to find products that were both nutritious and suitable for his parents’ needs.

He also searched for natural lotions, wipes, and sanitizing products that could refresh and support daily hygiene. Yet he found that most disinfectants on the market were too harsh and could dry or irritate the skin, making them unsuitable for frequent use.

Faced with the absence of suitable products, Kenneth decided to develop them himself.

With a background in chemical engineering, he began inventing and developing his own line of health and hygiene products. Supported in part by Japanese government research programs, Kenneth successfully developed several innovations, including water-based disinfectant sprays and spray bottle technologies capable of eliminating 99.9% of bacteria, while remaining gentle on the skin and suitable for daily use.
